Everything You Need to Know for Q4 Amazon Selling
Starting any growing any business can be a daunting task. Selling on Amazon is no different. With that said, it’s worth the journey!

As you prepare for the Holiday season, it’s important to focus on the following two questions:
1. When should I send in my FBA inventory to ensure it’s received on time?
and
2. How do I make sure there are no gaps in my available FBA inventory so that my product doesn’t sell out (and remains in stock).
Important thoughts & reminders
FBA Shipping Methods & Quantities
When it comes to FBA inventory receiving and processing times, a variety of factors come in to play. Shipment types, shipment origins, quantities and the number of Amazon Fulfillment Centers receiving your inventory can affect how quickly Amazon can process your products. For example, during the holidays it can take an extra 7-14 days for Amazon to receive your inventory and have it available for sale.
During the holidays it’s important to recognized that Amazon can take up to 3-4 weeks to process your income inventory.
Seasonal Inventory
As you prepare to send inventory to Amazon for the holidays, understand the different between seasonal and evergreen products.
Late winter (and early spring) typically spur sales in Sports & Outdoors, Luggage & Travel Gear, Tools & Home Improvement and Patio & Garden.
It’s typical to stock up in Toys & Games, Sports & Fitness, Video Games and other holidays specific items related to Thanksgiving and Christmas.
When using SpyRivals to determine velocity of sales, be careful not to “over purchase” items that are Thanksgiving or Christmas specific to avoid having left over inventory.
Amazon Prime Day Event
While not finalized or announced yet, expect Amazon Prime Day (Part 2) to take place October 8-9, 2024… ultimately kicking off the holiday shopping season early.
Prepare for Growth
2024 Q4 is expected to break all records and become the biggest shopping season in the history of the internet.
Typically, Q4 sales see a 30% to 50% rise in sales. While not guaranteed, you can expect to see a spike in sales.
SpyRivals will help you predict inventory purchases. During the holidays it can be difficult to forecast sales and balance that with Amazon FBA timelines. In addition you want to avoid the seasonal increase of Amazon storage fees. Of course, running out of inventory early is less than ideal.
Holiday Shopping Season
With Prime Day in October, the holiday shopping season starts early - effectively kicking off long before Black Friday & Cyber Monday.
Keep in mind that almost half of Amazon consumers say they shop for themselves during the holidays. So, even if you don’t offer items for gifts (like toys or video games or candles), you can still benefit from an increase in sales throughout Q4.

Q4 Calendar - Deadlines
September 12
This is the last day for inventory to arrive for the Prime Fall Deal Event
October 19
This is the last day for inventory to arrive for the holiday season, Black Friday and Cyber Monday.
December 1
This is the last day for inventory to arrive for Christmas 2024.
***Plan your shipments ahead of time and set the goal of having inventory arrive in Amazon Warehouses prior to the deadlines. The holiday season is the busiest time of the year for logistics so it could take longer for your inventory to arrive at the fulfillment centers. In addition, it takes time for Amazon make your inventory available for sale.

Don’t just maximize your Q4, max out your profits as well. Shoppers are willing to pay more as Christmas gets closer, so you can raise your prices throughout the holiday season.
Make sure to adjust your minimum and maximum pricing, increasing both metrics, when utilizing the IM RePricer. If you don’t have access, log in to the IM Community platform and subscribe.
